cu

opportunity

Mike and Joni Hollen came to Techline wanting to open an upscale restaurant in the downtown waterloo area with top-notch food and service in a classy but comfortable atmosphere.

solutions

Using copper as a theme Techline designed a warm, inviting environment full of texture and color. From the black velvet draperies separating the tables to the tall walnut stained booth surrounds, the customer feels as though they have the restaurant all to themselves. Copper filament wall- paper glints off the lighted domed ceiling and paint in mustard yellow and cool greens create an inviting glow through out the space.

Techline also had the opportunity to put a little of Waterloo's history into the space when we approached the Hollen's about using the walnut paneling and molding from the President's office from the now closed Rath Packing Plant Administration building in their banquet room. The Hollen's were excited by the idea and the banquet room was designed around the paneling.

Having a great appreciation for art, the Hollens commissioned artiest Paco Rosic to create one of a kind art pieces for the space. Techline worked closely with Paco in coming up with several of the pieces.

results

Cu opened to the public in October 2004 to rave reviews and is a welcome addition to the downtown Waterloo area.
